Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and strategic Assistant Manager - HR to oversee human resource functions. This role will be pivotal in managing workforce planning, employee relations, compliance, talent acquisition, and HR operations for a fast-paced logistics environment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, adaptable, and have a solid understanding of labour regulations, warehouse dynamics, and workforce management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead recruitment strategies for warehouse staff and logistics personnel.
  • Partner with operations managers to forecast staffing needs.
  • Manage onboarding and orientation for new hires.
  • Address employee concerns and resolve conflicts in a fair, consistent manner.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive, and productive workplace culture.
  • Support initiatives that improve employee morale and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with labour laws, safety standards, and company policies.
  • Maintain employee records and documentation.
  • Conduct investigations and disciplinary procedures when necessary.
  • Oversee timekeeping, attendance, and payroll coordination.
  • Track HR metrics (e.g. turnover, absenteeism) and report trends.
  • Recommend process improvements and automation where possible.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field (Master’s or HR certification is a plus)
  • 5+ years of HR experience, preferably in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing.
  • Strong understanding of labour laws and HR best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with HRIS and Microsoft Office tools.
