Essential Job Function

This multifaceted role involves leading both the Enterprise Custom Reports (ECR) team and the Data Warehouse team. The incumbent will be responsible for leading team operations; providing direction and support; delegating tasks; and ensuring the integration of business processes, training, documentation, and quality assurance.

Key responsibilities include the development of customized case management system reports using T-SQL, SSRS, and SSIS, as well as designing and implementing data transformations within the data warehouse. This includes architecting and building out scalable data pipelines that follow a medallion architecture?organizing data into bronze (raw data), silver (cleansed and enriched), and gold (business-level aggregates and metrics) transformation layers. The ideal candidate will ensure that data flows are efficient, well-documented, and aligned with business intelligence needs.

The position also requires gathering and analyzing business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and maintaining thorough documentation. Additionally, the role involves testing, debugging, and maintaining existing reports and data models to ensure accuracy, reliability, and performance.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides leadership and strategic direction to the ECR and Data Warehouse team, guiding daily operations while setting clear expectations for performance and outcomes. Delegates responsibilities effectively, ensuring team members are empowered and equipped to meet project goals. Oversees the development and delivery of high-quality work products, conducting thorough quality assurance reviews to maintain excellence. Manages timelines and project milestones to ensure all deliverables are completed on schedule. Actively identifies opportunities to streamline processes, drive efficiency, and implement improvements that enhance team productivity and data management outcomes.

Works with systems business analysts, researchers and/or court users to gather and elicit requirements to determine reporting criteria. Plan, Design, Develop, Test, Document and Implement MDEC Reports and Ad-Hoc queries, using SSRS, SSIS, T-SQL, C++, XML and MS VB .Net.

Assist in data warehouse work, as many case management system reports will move to the data warehouse. Performs the design and extension of data marts, meta data and data models. Ensures all data warehouse architecture codes are maintained in Azure Dev Ops. (This may shift to higher frequency as the data warehouse expands).

Report Customer Service:  Provides Help Desk (ServiceNow) support to end users remotely and on-site.

Works collaboratively with other report developers and business analysts on Judiciary processes and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor?s Degree from an accredited college or university.

Experience:

Four (4) years of professional experience with MS SQL Server (writing and performance tuning). Two (2) years of experience in Enterprise Data Warehouse platforms.

Additional related work experience as defined above may be substituted on a year for year basis for up to four (4) years of the required education

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of:

Some demonstrated working knowledge of VB .Net and FTP.

Some knowledge of XML & JSON syntax and parsing is preferred.

Demonstrated knowledge of Systems Development Life cycle. 

Demonstrated knowledge of evaluating and enhancing T-SQL performance.

Domain knowledge of court related concepts and business activities is preferred.

Microsoft Office Tools.

Skill in:

Strong analytical skills for evaluating, documenting and enhancing existing queries and develop new T-SQL queries.

Strong demonstrated understanding and work with T-SQL, SSRS, SSIS, C++.

Reverse Engineering and Refactoring T-SQL queries.

Good collaboration, communication and documentation skills are essential.

Physical Requirements:

Sedentary work. Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
