Overview

  • Assist pharmacists through performance of the accurate execution of the following activities:

    • Computer order entry of outpatient orders.

    • Answering telephone, filing, billing / crediting and medication profile maintenance.

  • Assist pharmacists through performance of the accurate execution of the following activities:

    • Filling medication orders.

    • Packaging and shipping medication orders.

    • Load and refill medications into ScriptPro and overall stock.

  • Prioritize orders to assure that product is delivered to patients in a timely manner

  • Organize and restock work areas during and prior to end of shift, and remove expired medication

  • Interacts with other healthcare team members and patients and displays a high level of customer service commitmen
  • Has the ability to work at any assigned outpatient pharmacy site
  • Perform other technician duties as assigned based on operational needs.


Responsibilities

  • High School Diploma
  • Active State of Oregon Pharmacy Technician License, including the completion and maintenance of job-specific competencies and certifications.

Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (Competencies):

  • Ability to read and understand medical-related terms.
  • Ability to perform basic pharmaceutical mathematics calculations.
  • Skill at manipulating small objects, e.g., needles, syringes, ampules.
  • Ability to use mechanical system for transfer of fluids.
  • Knowledge of and skill at application of aseptic technique.
  • Ability to establish priorities in workflow.
  • Good interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work under supervision of diverse Pharmacists.


Qualifications



  • Formal pharmacy technician training program
  • Inpatient and outpatient hospital pharmacy experience.
  • Medical and scientific nomenclature
