Crane Currency has an immediate internal opening for a Watermark Applicant Technologist Trainee based out of Dalton, MA.

How you will make an impact:

As a Watermark Applicant Technologist Trainee, you will embark on an exciting journey to develop a broad range of skills in the project area of watermarked security papers for Currency Papers Manufacturing. This role requires a unique blend of mechanical skills, creative/artistic ability, proficiency in selected computer programs, and the patience to pay focused attention to fine detail. You will be instrumental in enhancing our digital presence and improving customer engagement through the development of new technologies and solutions.

  • A thorough knowledge of the workings and maintenance of the Crane Currency Watermarking Cylinder.
  • Check customer approved sheet layouts and templates.
  • Assist with inspections and inventories as needed.
  • Provide support to machine or shop crews in handling problems associated with the watermarking process.
  • It is the employee’s responsibility to adhere to Company safety policies and ensure that all safety equipment is used, and that good judgment and care are exercised for the prevention of accidents and personal injuries.

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

  • Candidates will be based on most qualified, internal candidates must be willing to complete AutoCAD training as part of training to advancing to WAT. Experience in or willingness to take training in Adobe Illustrator class and Excel for initial training or continuing training may also be included.
  • Ability to perform and provide backup for all WAT tasks.
  • Must have a customer focused attitude and working relationship with all internal customers, may occasionally interact with external customers.
  • Be able to interact with all Watermark staff and complete duties as assigned.
  • Must be willing to learn and able to download die files, prepare brass for die cutting, setup Lang and be able to run a job independently.
  • Be willing to learn and able to deripp and pin a die independently.
  • Willing to learn and able to print and mount all hardware on finishing and quality templates
  • Willing to learn and able to create and edit customer, machine, wet end, burnout, finishing templates in AutoCAD

Preferred:

  • CNC experience (a plus but not required), both preparing files and machine setup.
  • AutoCAD 2D computerized CAD programs.
  • Adobe Illustrated
