About the Technology Support Administrator Position:

The Technical Implementation Integration Lead plays a critical role in the successful implementation of Avalon’s Lab Benefit Management (LBM) programs by managing all technical integration points between Avalon systems and client platforms. This role ensures that data exchange, system connectivity, and configuration requirements are clearly defined, documented, and executed in alignment with project timelines and quality standards. The Technical Implementation Integration Lead serves as both a client-facing subject matter expert and an internal liaison across IT, implementation, configuration, and development teams.

This role requires a strategic focus on optimizing process efficiency, managing technical implementation resources, and fostering effective collaboration across departments to achieve consistently dependable project outcomes.

This position is eligible for remote work, but quarterly travel will be required to Avalon's corporate office located in Tampa, Florida.

Technical Implementation Integration Lead - Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the client-facing subject matter expert on all aspects of technical integration delivery. 
  • Manage parallel projects with a high level of technical complexity.
  • Develop and execute implementation plans for projects and initiatives, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged throughout the process.
  • Able to define and explain software architectures to the clients and partners
  • Ensure successful implementation of Avalon’s LBM program by managing technical integration activities around onboarding tasks, requirements gathering, development, testing, and deployment phases.
  • Lead and document data mapping sessions for program data files and extracts and coordinate secure file transfers with internal teams.
  • Collaborate with internal leads (e.g., DBAs, Developers, Testers, Analytics, MFT, SSO, EDA) to define and document technical requirements, and ensure timely execution of deliverables aligned with project timelines.
  • Coordinate setup of secure system access (e.g., SSO) for client users and providers.
  • Create and manage technical work items (e.g., JIRA tickets) for development and configuration tasks.
  • Support end-to-end user acceptance testing (UAT), including planning, execution, and issue resolution.
  • Translate business needs into clear specifications for development and testing teams.
  • Help test and troubleshoot data and system issues to ensure smooth implementation
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to identify, develop, and deliver process improvements that enhance efficiency and project quality, reducing overall implementation timelines
  • Act as the business owner of all technical integration-related materials within the Avalon Implementation
  • Toolkit, including the Implementation Guide and supplemental specifications.
  • Identify and drive process and solution improvements to enhance implementation efficiency and reduce defects.

Technical Implementation Integration Lead – Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or experience in lieu of degree
  • Minimum of three (3) years’ professional experience in some combination of IT or electronic data exchange (EDI) in managed care operations.
  • Minimum of two (2) years, experience in health plan, managed care, or benefits management industry 
  • Ability to skillfully negotiate and resolve issues between external and internal stakeholders.
  • Solid understanding of the software development lifecycle, technical implementation best practices, and testing methodologies.
  • Proficiency in integration technologies, including Integration-as-a-Service (IaaS), XML/JSON, APIs, and data management (e.g., data loading, conversion, standardization, and mining).
  • Experience with SQL (various dialects), HIPAA compliance, RESTful and SOAP API development and testing.
  • Familiarity with cloud computing environments and healthcare claims processing platforms.

Technical Implementation Integration Lead – Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in a small, high-growth company.
  • Knowledge of Java programming is a plus.
