Overview

Clinical Activities (not related to teaching or research):

  • Position will hold independent clinic sessions each day of the week.
  • Position will assist with daily triage and medical review
  • Participates in Tumor Board sessions and other OHSU Cancer Institute programming.
  • Participates in daily morning rounds with faculty and residents.

Scholarly Activities (research/writing, abstracts, grant supported work, presentations, etc.):

  • Grand Round presentations bi-annually.

Administrative Activities:

  • Participates in the development of clinical pathways / care plans / guidelines / protocols in conjunction with faculty and inpatient nursing leadership. Facilitates communication between faculty, residents, and SLP’s.

Responsibilities

Education: Master’s Degree as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider role.

 

Experience: 3 – 5 years clinical experience as an APP that demonstrates ability to fulfill responsibilities for the specific role preferred.
Willing to train a new graduate with minimal rotation experience in an Otolaryngology / Head and Neck Surgery environment.

 

Job Related Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated ability to satisfy standards of performance delineated by law and associated professional practice standards, the latter set forth as an addendum to the position description.
  • Ability to manage heavy workload with multiple priorities and inflexible deadlines.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Proficient in the use of computing hardware and software, including personal computing equipment, electronic medical record, word processing and spreadsheet software.
  • Regular and consistent attendance at work
  • Willingness to learn

Registrations, Certifications and/or Licenses:
Current licensure as required by specific Advanced Practice Provider governing board(s).Certified, National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants or Certified Nurse Practitioner.
