Job Overview

The Inbound Supervisor is responsible for managing the inbound logistics operations, ensuring that all incoming shipments are processed efficiently and accurately. This role involves coordinating with various teams, maintaining inventory accuracy, and ensuring compliance with safety and operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supervision of Inbound Operations:

    • Oversee the receiving, inspection, and storage of incoming goods and materials.
    • Ensure that all inbound shipments are processed in a timely manner.
  2. Team Leadership:

    • Manage and lead the inbound team, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.
    • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and high performance.
  3. Inventory Management:

    • Maintain accurate inventory records and oversee inventory control processes.
    • Conduct regular audits of incoming inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  4. Coordination with Vendors and Carriers:

    • Communicate with suppliers, vendors, and transportation providers to coordinate delivery schedules and resolve any issues.
    • Ensure that all necessary documentation for inbound shipments is complete and accurate.
  5. Safety and Compliance:

    • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during the receiving process.
    • Promote a culture of safety within the inbound team and conduct safety training as needed.
  6. Process Improvement:

    • Identify opportunities for improving inbound processes and workflows to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.
    • Implement best practices and standard operating procedures for inbound operations.
  7. Reporting and Documentation:

    • Prepare reports on inbound operations, including receiving metrics, inventory levels, and team performance.
    • Maintain accurate records of all inbound transactions and activities.
