Generative AI Software Engineer Intern



The PittNAIL Lab, led by Dr. Yanshan Wang, is at the forefront of advancing Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Model (LLM) applications in healthcare. We are currently seeking a Generative AI Software Engineer Intern to join our team as a Full-Stack Web/Mobile AI App Developer. This is a remote position open to candidates located anywhere in the United States. As an intern, you will contribute to the development, deployment, and maintenance of web and mobile applications that integrate cutting-edge generative AI and LLM technologies. You will work closely with both the design and AI teams to build scalable, intuitive, and user-friendly applications while ensuring seamless deployment across major cloud platforms.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, test, and debug full-stack web and mobile applications.
  • Integrate generative AI and LLM models into application workflows.
  • Deploy applications to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
  • Collaborate with UI/UX designers and AI engineers to deliver high-quality user experiences.
  • Implement web analytics tools to monitor, analyze, and optimize application performance.
  • Ensure code quality, maintainability, and scalability in cloud environments.

  • Proficiency in front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and modern frameworks (e.g., React, Angular, or Vue).
  • Experience with mobile development frameworks such as React Native or Flutter.
  • Strong back-end development skills using Node.js, Python, or similar technologies.
  • Experience deploying applications to cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP) using services like EC2, S3, Cloud Run, App Service, etc.
  • Knows genAI tools (such as LangChain, LangGraph) and LLMs (such as ChatGPT APIs and LLaMA)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and practices for cloud deployment is a plus.
  • Understanding of web analytics tools (e.g., Google Analytics, Mixpanel) and performance optimization strategies.
  • Strong problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote, fast-paced environment.
  • Familiarity with AI concepts and LLM integration is a plus.
