Now hiring a Production & Warehouse Supervisor at our Auburn, Maine manufacturing plant. 

 

1st Shift - 5:00 AM - 3:30 PM Monday through Thursday with overtime on Friday/Saturdays as needed

This Supervisor has full responsibility for the safety, quality, delivery, and cost performance for their assigned value streams.  



Responsibilities

  • General

    • Building and nurturing the team through excellent two-way communication and engaging associates to meet or exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).
    • Managing expectations and communication channels both up and down reporting structure.
    • Ensuring all employees are trained to perform the required job functions. Driving cross-training to minimize the impact of vacation and absence. 
    • Addressing employees’ personal and work-related issues, including issuing progressive disciplinary action, if appropriate. 
    • Enforcing company policies and procedures. 
    • Ensuring all equipment is in safe operating condition and all safety concerns are immediately addressed.
    • Fostering growth by having performance plans set, maintained, and continuously improved.
    • Driving improvements through process innovation, teamwork and operator engagement.
    • Participating in various meetings as necessary and value added.
    • Utilizing a structured problem-solving methodology to ensure preventive\corrective actions are focused on the true root cause – not a symptom.

    Production

    • Developing Coordinators to be future leaders through mentoring. Empowering them to own all material movement and be a first responder to operator production needs. 
    • Meeting schedule delivery commitments through adjusting staffing to balance work-flow to maximize throughput. 
    • Working closely with other Supervisors to share resources as needed to ensure production outputs are maximized.
    • Monitoring chronic bottleneck operations\jobs and upcoming product mix to ensure controls are in place to respond to work-flow issues.
    • Ensuring compliance to ISO 9001 procedures and production work instructions.
    • Monitoring value stream and operator productivity and quality performance and driving actions toward improvement.

    Warehouse

    • Accountable for shipping on time and in full as it relates to invoicing.
    • Managing warehouse, shipping, and receiving metrics.
    • Assisting operators with preparation for same day domestic, international, and hazardous material shipments.
    • Overseeing inventory management, record retention, and return and I&O processing.
    • Adjusting schedules/expedite operations to meet unplanned changes in production schedules.
    • Recommending and assist in the implementation of unit goals and objectives.
    • Overseeing delivery performance and inventory accuracy through the cycle count program.

    Special knowledge, skills and abilities required:

    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills
    • Ability to coach, develop, cross train and mentor staff
    • Ability to plan, schedule, and coordinate work and organize daily activities
    • Strong problem-solving skills
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and SAP
    • Familiar with ISO 9001 quality standards

     



Qualifications

Education and experienced required:

  • Level One
    • Associate’s degree in related field or educational academic equivalent
    • Two years supervisory or leadership experience, and three years working experience in a manufacturing or warehouse environment.
      • Two years of proven supervisory or leadership experience in a manufacturing, warehouse or military setting may be substituted for an associate’s degree and/or associates degree.
    • Ability and expectation to obtain HazMat certification.

 

  • Level Two
    • Five years of experience in warehouse or inventory management.
    • Two years previous supervisory or leadership experience.
    • Related military experience may be considered for supervisor and / or work experience.
    • Bachelor’s Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain, Business, Engineering or other related discipline.
    • Ability and expectation to obtain HazMat certification.

 

Education and experience preferred:

  • Stitching background and/or experience with garment, textile or industrial sewing manufacturing operations.
  • 5+ years of experience in a manufacturing leadership position directing people and workflow in value stream setting
  • Experience managing up to 25 employees
  • Experience working in a manufacturing setting and managing via KPI's
  • Experience working with SAP or other ERP
  • Associate’s degree or higher
