WHAT YOU’LL DO

Reporting to the Program Director, the Program Manager will be responsible for the local implementation and delivery of the National Kidney Foundation's (NKF) signature programs to patients, healthcare professionals, those at risk for kidney disease, and the general public. These programs include (but are not limited to) Fellows Research Forum, Renal Education Programs, Patient Education Programs, Corporate Wellness Programs, and Drive for Dialysis.

The Program Manager will work with the Program staff and the Executive Director to evaluate program performance and ensure activities are aligned with the NKF's strategic

plan. The Program Manager will also work in collaboration with regional leadership and development staff in fundraising efforts.

· Manage and deliver NKF signature programs within the service area of the National Capital Area and Virginia.

· Manage patient educational programs within the service area.

· Manage all logistics related to professional education meetings and/or education sessions.

· Oversee program coordination and delivery, marketing, communications, tracking, and metrics.

· Recruit, train and manage volunteers for all program activities.

· Enhance minority outreach and public awareness activities.

· Work in collaboration with Executive Director, development staff, and program staff to secure funding for local programs by assisting with grant proposals.

· Oversee a portfolio of pharmaceutical and industry companies and seek funding for comprehensive strategic partnerships.

· Develop and coordinate activities to strengthen public education and awareness.

· Produce local reports on programs performance and provide feedback to management.

· Assist with program budget.

· Coordinate local Medical Advisory Board meetings.

· Manage internship process.

· Perform additional duties, as required.

WHAT YOU’LL POSSESS

· Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university. Master's in health-related or social services field, preferred.

· Minimum three year's work related experience managing community outreach and/or public education programs.

· Experience working for a non-profit health agency is preferred.

· Experience in grant proposal writing.

· Experience working with volunteers.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Spanish language skills a plus.

· Excellent interpersonal, time-management and organizational skills.

· Must be assertive, confident and project a positive presence.

· Fluent in Microsoft Word applications.

· Flexible for business travel including the ability to work evenings and weekends as needed.

Must have unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness and possess a high degree of tact, discretion, and professionalism. Verbal and written communication skills will be used daily. Maintains effectiveness under pressure. Uses a multiple line telephone, personal computer, fax machine, photocopier, and other standard office equipment. Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. Must have a valid driver’s license and own insured vehicle or daily access to a vehicle. Flexible for overnight business travel. Flexible to work evenings and weekends as needed.
