SUMMARY:

The Safety & Compliance Specialist provides administrative support for the Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) Department. The Safety & Compliance Specialist primary manages certificates of insurance, third party contractor management database, and Environmental, Health and Safety assessments to ensure compliance with customer requirements.

JOB DUTIES

  • Provides administrative support for the Environmental, Health & Safety Department in the following areas: facility and vehicle safety, workers compensation, employee benefits, environmental and hazardous materials compliance.
  • Proactively administers third party Environmental, Health and Safety databases to ensure compliance with various insurance and safety related requirements.
  • Manages requests for Certificates of Insurance from customers and Motion locations.
  • Reviews customer contracts to ensure insurance and safety compliance.
  • Completes contractor surveys and pre-qualification questionnaires.
  • Adheres to established safety, health and environmental policies and procedures.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
  • Typically requires a high school diploma or GED
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of related experience or an equivalent combination.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES
  • High level verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a wide variety of employees at all levels of the organization, suppliers, customers and regulatory agencies
  • High degree of initiative, decision-making skills, and judgment
  • Working knowledge of EHS-related regulations, programs, certifications and reporting requirements.
  • Strong reliability, organization, attention to detail and dedication to producing high quality work.
  • Advanced computer skills required, including communicating internally and externally via email, performing technical calculations, and generating reports; proficient at using business systems (Microsoft Office programs, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, web-based applications, Company Operating System, Adobe and other electronic tools
  • Demonstrated customer service orientation.
  • Ability to multi-task, prioritize and work independently.
