Your role: 

As Business Development Director you will be responsible for driving the strategic growth of DHL’s Lead Logistics Provider (LLP) offering across the EMEA region. Your mission is to identify, shape, and secure new business opportunities while supporting long-term customer retention and value creation through tailored LLP solutions.

What will we do together?

  • Leading key LLP new business development initiatives at both regional and global level, with full accountability for strategic direction and commercial outcomes,
  • Designing and executing a comprehensive customer retention program aimed at maximizing retention, protecting existing revenue streams, and growing gross profit (GP)
  • Effectively delivering the customer retention plan by applying proven methods, operational best practices, and modern tools that help retain clients and create added value,
  • Developing, implementing, and continuously refining the LLP growth strategy across the EMEA region, including identifying priority sectors and initiatives to accelerate market expansion,
  • Facilitating strategic customer workshops to uncover needs, align expectations, and co-create optimal logistics solutions,
  • Taking ownership of designing and implementing tailored value propositions fully aligned with each customer’s unique requirements and business goals,
  • Ensuring full resource and subject-matter support throughout the bidding process, with direct involvement in major tenders and offer finalization,
  • Overseeing the development of new business opportunities in line with the O2D (Opportunity to Development) methodology, including leading ORA and BCA analysis to support strategic decision-making.

Who are we looking for?

  • Higher education, preferably in business, supply chain or logistics-related fields,
  • Extensive experience in logistics services sales, including at least 5 years in a similar senior-level role,
  • Fluent English, both written and spoken – essential,
  • Willingness to travel across the EMEA region (up to 25% annually),
  • Proven experience in designing and implementing tools, techniques, and approaches that support business development and commercial processes,
  • Demonstrated track record of delivering transformational business growth,
  • Strong experience in engaging with senior-level stakeholders, both internally and externally,
  • Proven ability to manage regional and local customer relationships within a complex matrix organization,
  • Experience working in an international, multicultural environment, with the ability to adapt across cultures,
  • Experience working in a matrix organization and international environment.
