Working at REI as a Thermal Production Trainer you will be given the opportunity to apply your production knowledge and training skills to train existing and new employees in the production process as well PIT/forklift training. In the training position, you will also have the opportunity to create and/or revise training material to improve our training program as well as maintain training records.

The Thermal Production Trainer will:

  • Model the “safety first” behaviors we expect of all employees by ensuring that operational procedures and processes are performed safely and practice a safe work environment.
  • Train employees how to operate, changeover and troubleshoot all operator positions in their assigned process.
  • Prepare lesson plans including method, media, OJT and training materials to be presented.
  • Maintain training logs for REI and contingent workers including initial training, follow-up assessments and training effectiveness.
  • Provide training to contingent workers and new employees on the 1st day of work.
  • Oversee trainees during training period to ensure employees are following established processes. Conduct follow up evaluations and obtain training feedback from employees and supervisor.
  • Provide follow up training to ensure competency. Observe employees and working stations and make specific training recommendations to help employees maintain or improve job skills.
  • Provide contingent workforce agency feedback regarding training and make recommendations to hire or move contingent worker to other areas based on performance and training results.
  • Revise and update existing training manuals with changes from management and engineering.
  • Assist with machine downtime investigations and troubleshooting.

Experience

Required

5-7 years’ experience in manufacturing operations.
Intermediate experience using MS Office 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams Meeting and SharePoint).
Must possess good oral and written communication skills.
Must possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
Knowledge of training techniques as well as experience training others.
Must be able to work well in a fast-paced environment while interacting with all levels of staff, with a high level of professionalism and positive demeanor.
Must possess ability to prioritize items with minimal guidance and comply with the due dates.

Preferred

Web-handling, mixing, extrusion or curtain coating, adhesive experience preferred.
Working knowledge of AS400/MRP systems, and advanced lean manufacturing concepts preferred.
