Responsibilities

1st Shift - Part time - Weekly hours will range from 24-48 hours approximately occurring between 10:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday through Thursday. 

 

Starting Pay: $18.00/hr

Pay Grade: HR999

MSA Globe Manufacturing in Auburn, Maine is now hiring for a part-time Facilities Janitorial and Maintenance Worker to provide on-site cleaning support for our manufacturing plant. In this role the Maintenance Worker will be responsible for:

  • Clean the interior of buildings including floors, carpet, rugs, windows and walls.
  • Disinfect commonly used items like desks, door handles, office tools and phones.
  • Maintain cleaning inventory, and notify management when orders are needed for replacement products.
  • Empty trash and recycling bins.
  • Operate floor scrubbers and other equipment.
  • Monitor and fill bathroom supplies.
  • Utilize forklift to empty trash receptacles.
  • Complete minor facilities repairs such as floor tape replacement, wall painting, switching light bulbs, and unclogging toilets.
  • Remove sewing debris from manufacturing equipment wheels.
  • Other activities as deemed necessary by management.


Qualifications

Requirements:

 

  • Ability to:
    • read, write and speak English.
    • stand on feet for full shift reaching, bending, stooping and twisting as needed.
    • lift up to 50 lbs. as needed.
    • wear required PPE.
    • operate Floor Scrubber and Forklift once trained.
    • climb up and down stairs.
    • work around chemicals used for cleaning.

Preferred:

  • 1-2 years of cleaning experience. 
  • High School Diploma or GED.
