The Retail Operation Attendant Lead Personnel is responsible for providing cash operation services and completing various support tasks during the assigned shift. The hours for this position may vary and include nights and weekends.
Essential Functions/Characteristics
Interacts professionally with other employees, customers, and suppliers.
Performs quality work within deadlines with or without direct supervision.
Works effectively as a team leader on all assignments.
Works independently while understanding the necessity for communicating and coordinating work efforts with other employees and organizations.
Cleaning Services
Cleans work areas, equipment and utensils, distributes supplies, utensils, and portable equipment.
Keeps cashier area clean, utilizing proper cleaning products and adhering to established sanitation standards.
Keeps customer tables, chairs, and counters clean and neat.
Compliance
Interacts with co-workers to ensure compliance with company service standards, and inventory and cash control procedures.
Monitors sanitation, food production, handling, and storage practices of assigned unit and ensures compliance with established standards.
Confidentiality
Confidentiality extends to all matters involving the University, its agents or employees and must use professional judgment in disseminating information as part of executing specific job responsibilities.
Respects and maintains confidentiality, parameters of operation, professional protocols, and individual privacy.
Customer Service
Serves customers in an efficient and friendly manner, resolves customer concerns seeking assistance from supervisors or management as needed.
Food Preparation
Stocks all customer supplies per direction of supervisor on duty.
Stocks, prepares, cooks, and serves all menu/food related items in unit assigned.
Washes, peels, cuts, and seeds vegetables and fruits.
Leadership
Accurately reports all cash receipts, make deposits and file the appropriate paperwork daily.
Consistently monitors standards and makes recommendations for improvements or cost reductions without sacrificing established service quality standards.
Demonstrates complete understanding of departmental requirements and interprets their intent accurately to staff members. Maintains sick line and fills open positions.
Monitors customer traffic/buying trends and makes appropriate adjustments to improve service deliver.
Monitors daily performance and productivity of staff and ensures compliance with established timetables and quality standards.
Posts schedule on a weekly basis.
Routinely inspects areas of assigned responsibility and reports all substandard safety, security, or equipment conditions to Cash Operations Manager.
Schedules employee time off according to established union contract.
Trains staff as assigned, and assists with orientation of new employees in a timely and efficient manner.
Retail Operations
Compiles weekly inventory of all point of sale coolers, racks and walk in coolers.
Counts, verifies and reconciles daily sales, following all cash handling standards.
Set up and Preparation
Carries pans, kettles, and trays of food to and from workstations, stove, and refrigerator.
Inventories supplies daily and requisitions items as needed to meet par levels.
Additional Functions
Monitors customer traffic/buying trends and makes appropriate adjustments to improve service delivery.
Maintains sick line and fill open positions. Posts schedule on weekly basis.
Under the direction of the Cash Operations Manager, schedules employee time off according to established union contract.
Trains staff as assigned, and assists with orientation of new employees in a timely and efficient manner.

$500 signing bonus after a 4-month satisfactory probationary period is completed.

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. High School Diploma or equivalent. A minimum of 3 years as a food service professional with a minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience. Strong background in food preparation, a la carte, fast food, cooking and service. Ability to interact with diverse and high volume customer base in a friendly and efficient manner. Ability to use the time clock system properly, and record worked hours for processing. Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Ability to answer basic questions regarding unit operations and direct other questions to appropriate parties. Possess the ability to meet Bon App?tit unit specific uniform standards for this position. Utilize all Personal Protective Equipment's per Bon App?tit guidelines. Wear a cut resistant glove whenever using a sharp or potentially sharp tool or instrument.
Preferred Qualifications
Higher Education degree.
