Immediate Supervisor (Title): Senior Manager of Procurement


Primary Purpose:

Placing and completing purchase orders with approved vendors for components, materials, or finished goods for Orion to fulfill orders to customers in our allotted lead times. Help maintain relationships with approved vendors to ensure lead time or quality issues are handled in a timely manner.


Job Responsibilities:

• Execute/generate purchase orders, based on approved requisitions, requests for proposals, bids, stock levels, and other similar and necessary documents related to the purchasing of metal, raw materials, and commodities

• Establish and maintain sound professional relationships with suppliers. Help to resolve issues (e.g. pricing, quality, timing, claims, etc.) associated with terms and conditions of supply and service agreements

• Be the primary contact for assigned suppliers’ purchase orders, shipment verification, and non-conforming materials

• Facilitate and manage any supplier issues (i.e. cost, quality, delivery, customer service)

• Collaborate

• Track and report on vendor performance for quality and delivery

• Maintain current, accurate records and files of all vendor agreements and related procurement records

• Support, communicate and defend the policies, values, and culture of the company


Experience and Qualifications:

• Associate degree in Business, procurement or equivalent experience in related field,

• Strong negotiating skills and proven success

• Ability to understand and adhere to all company policies pertaining to procurement, contracts, or breach by contract

• Previous shipping or receiving experience helpful

• Knowledge of safety policies, procedures, and safe working practices

• Basic knowledge in Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.)

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills

• Exhibits proactive attitude and strong work ethic

• Possess capability to manage and prioritize multiple requests

• Must have a strong focus on accuracy, attention to details, customer service, and maintaining high standards of integrity

Work Schedule:

Monday through Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm; occasional mandatory overtime as required/needed
