Job Summary:

Reporting to the Director of Acute Care Services & Mobile Crisis, the Emergency Services Clinician provide crisis support and assessment to individuals and families presenting to Cheshire Medical Center's Emergency Department. As an Emergency Services crisis clinician, you will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to assess and stabilize crisis situations in a hospital-based setting. Coverage will be provided on second shift Monday through Friday and first and second shift on Saturday and Sunday. Specific hours for which coverage is needed include: Monday–Friday from 5:00pm to 11:30pm and Saturday and Sunday 8:30am to 11:30pm.

Requirements:

Responsibilities:

  • Work as a consultant within the Cheshire Medical Center Emergency Department (ED) in Keene, NH, responding to consult requests to provide mental health evaluations/risk and lethality assessments requested by Cheshire Medical Center providers.
  • Provide safety planning when appropriate and referrals for care post ED discharge.
  • Coordinate care with other community mental health centers, treatment providers, and crisis teams as appropriate.
  • Apply strong clinical judgment in the development of clinical formulations, dispositions, and safety plans.
  • Complete clinical documentation in accordance with medical necessity guidelines and agency standards.
  • Participate in team and agency meetings, trainings, and supervision as assigned.
  • Demonstrate and employ flexibility, critical thinking, and promote client centered care.
  • Ability to work flexible hours to ensure the provision of crisis interventions and documentation.
  • Attain and maintain credentials at Cheshire Medical Center.
  • Completion of IEA and CD Revocation paperwork which could include participation in court hearings during non-scheduled weekday hours.
  • Filing of Mandated Reports and execution of Duty to Warn when legally and ethically indicated.

Requirements:

  • Master's Degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Counseling Psychology, or a related clinical field from an accredited college or university plus two years relevant experience. Preference given to a degree that is certifiable or licensable in N.H. and crisis intervention employment.
  • Valid driver's license, personal vehicle and auto insurance or access to a reasonable alternative.
  • Availability for evening and weekend hours required.
