Job Overview
The PrEP Navigator III, Biomedical Program (ID) provides comprehensive HIV/STI Health Education, HIV counseling and testing, and facilitates HIV Prevention and PrEP and/or PEP Navigation Services to clients at high risk for infection or transmission of HIV. The PrEP Navigator's responsibilities include: 1) referring clients for ACA enrollment, 2) navigating clients onto PrEP and/or PEP services, 3) scheduling medical appointments for PrEP/PEP, and 4) assisting with Medication Assistance Programs. The Navigator conducts program recruitment for PrEP, client intake and assessment, facilitation and mentoring, as well as the coordination of referral services into other programs as appropriate. The Navigator monitors and reports on progress toward grant deliverables, and represents AltaMed by serving on internal and external workgroups, collaborative teams, and coalitions.
Minimum Requirements
High School Diploma or equivalent required.
Bachelor’s Degree in Social Services or other health-related field preferred.
A minimum of 4 years of experience in a human services field, including previous experience providing HIV prevention or case management services, is required.
A minimum of 4 years of professional experience in Motivational Interviewing and/or demonstrated capacity to deliver client-centered harm reduction counseling is highly desirable.
Previous experience delivering case management services to low-income, at-risk populations is preferred.
Certification as an HIV Test Counselor, Los Angeles Division of HIV and STD Programs, in advance of employment or must be obtained within 3 months of employment with AltaMed.
A minimum requirement of a valid BLS certification or higher, following the American Heart Association (AHA) or the American Red Cross guidelines.
English language proficiency, Bilingual preferred (fluent in English and Spanish).
Must be at least 21 years of age, due to outreach requirements at local bars, clubs, and other venues relevant to program activities.
Compensation

The range is subject to change.
