Laboratory Research Technician I



Job Summary

Performs laboratory testing and some analysis on multiple types of specimen samples. Operates and properly sterilizes equipment and maintains inventory and assists with ordering.


Essential Functions
  • Perform daily husbandry tasks including feeding, watering, and cage cleaning.
  • Monitor animal health and behavior; report concerns to veterinary staff.
  • Maintain accurate records of animal care and use.
  • Handle animals safely for routine procedures.
  • Track inventory and order lab supplies as needed.
  • Clean and maintain lab equipment and workspaces.
  • Follow all safety and compliance protocols (IACUC, USDA, etc.).

Physical Effort

Long periods of standing and occasionally lifting up to 50lbs.
