Position: Assistant Professor of Religion in Early Christianity
Description:
The Department of Religion at Princeton University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in Early Christianity, to begin September 1, 2026. The candidate should have strengths and interests that complement those of continuing faculty in the Religion Department's subfield of Religions of Mediterranean Antiquity, competency in relevant primary source and research languages, and be prepared to teach broadly in New Testament and Early Christianity.It is expected that candidates for a tenure-track position will have completed the Ph.D. by the time the position begins or will be very close to completing it. We seek faculty members who will create a climate that embraces excellence, with a strong commitment to teaching and mentoring that will enhance the work of the department and that will attract and retain a diverse student body. Expected Salary Range: $115,000 - $130,000

The posted salary range represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate for a full-time position; salaries for part-time positions are pro-rated accordingly.
