Job Summary:
BRG is seeking a Systems Security Engineer. The position requires working, hands-on knowledge of most cloud computing technology and providers, primarily around Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS), and the skills to architect these services to align with business technology requirements. Extensive Microsoft 365 and Azure skills knowledge is preferred, and AWS/Other platforms is a plus. Previous knowledge of on-premises technologies related to hardware and virtualization will be highly valued. Extensive knowledge about Active Directory and migration from On-Prem to Azure as the primary is a must. A degree in information technology, computer science or related field is required.

Reports to IT Manager, Systems Engineering & Resiliency

Key Contacts:

  • Cybersecurity and Network Security teams (for alignment of infrastructure and secure design)
  • Expert Solutions and Corporate Information Services teams (to develop platforms supporting business requirements)

Major Responsibilities/Job Functions:

  • Responsible for the monitoring and policy for all cloud resources.
  • Collaborate with cyber defense team to close vulnerabilities quickly
  • Ownership of cloud and a deployment of library of automated templates for consistent architecture deployed across cloud environments.
  • Management of Exchange Online environment.
  • Responsible for the management of all Cloud subscriptions and tenants to ensure governance policies are met in relation to cost and resource requests.
  • Building out an on-demand infrastructure for resource deployment based on CI/CD and Devops principles using terraform or an alternative platform collaborating with multiple teams across technology.
  • Work with team members in monthly system maintenance downtime.
  • Builds system resiliency to safeguard against cyber and operational threats

Knowledge, Skills, and Behaviors:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to present detailed or complicated information in an understandable way to non-technologists.
  • Ability to see beyond constraints of the existing environments and identity opportunities for improvement.
  • Strong organizational ability.
  • Experience managing and communicating requirements for Infrastructure systems.
  • Deployment scripting and automation experience with Active Directory (on-prem & Azure), Azure, and AWS.
  • Experience deploying, managing, administering, and migrating Infrastructure platforms in a Hybrid environment.
  • Experience with cloud services (Microsoft 365, SharePoint Online, Microsoft Azure, and Amazon Web Services).
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Windows based platforms (Windows Server, Active Directory).
  • Knowledge of PowerShell and how to properly leverage it in an automate environment.
  • Proven ability to adapt to changing technologies, new applications, and dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in effectively working with senior level management.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects and priorities and re-prioritize as necessary to align with current business.

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years’ experience in progressive IT roles, including cloud and systems engineering.

Other Requirements:

  • This position is remote, however, the ability to travel occasionally if needed for key project meetings or collaboration sessions is required.

Candidate must be able to submit verification of his/her legal right to work in the U.S., without company sponsorship.

Salary Range: $120,000-$170,000
