Part-Time Instructor - History of Black Pittsburgh

The History Department at the University of Pittsburgh seeks an experienced instructor for a one-semester undergraduate course on the history of Black Pittsburgh. The ideal candidate will have expertise in public history methodologies and African American life, institutions, culture, politics, and activism in Pittsburgh from the 1800s to the present.

Required:

-M.A. or Ph.D. in History, Africana Studies, Public History, Urban Studies, or a related field

-At least one year experience in public history practice (community history, oral history, museum work, digital projects, etc.)

-At least one year of undergraduate teaching

-A commitment to experiential pedagogy and support for a diverse student population
