What You Will Do
Primary purpose of position is to oversee daily operations of a textbook rental program which serves 11,000 undergraduate students. Students are charged a mandatory per credit hour fee which enables them to rent the majority of their textbooks at Textbook Service. About 75,000 course materials items are rented per semester.
Provide discussion topics and data that is specific to courses and the materials that are to be used and insure that they follow within existing Textbook Service policy. As a voting member of the OER and Textbook Affordability committees, review applications that are submitted by faculty and determine of they are eligible for stipends that are paid out of the Textbook Service budget. Work with departments and faculty to explain policy and the options that are available. To reach out to publishers on a semi-monthly bases to review pricing.
Minimum Acceptable Qualifications
-Associate degree in any field or concentration including general studies.
-Two (2) years (24 months) of experience in a retail environment
-One (1) year (12 months) of supervisory experience in a retail environment.
-Administrative ability and supervisory ability are required.
-Strong customer service skills required.
-Must be able to work effectively in stressful situations, in a fast paced environment and with a wide variety of people..
-Requires working extended hours during beginning and end of each semester.
