Reporting to the Faculty Office Supervisor, the Faculty Administrative Assistant is responsible for a wide variety of administrative and secretarial duties in support of the School of Law Faculty and the Race and the Law Institute.

Administrative Support

Provide administrative assistance to School of Law Faculty, and the Race and the Law Institute.

Assist School of Law Faculty and the Race and the Law Institute with travel arrangements and meeting logistics.

Provide administrative and secretarial assistance to various student organizations.

Maintain integrity of flies and ensure accuracy, currency and adherence to standard record keeping rules.

Interact with students, answer general questions and/or direct students to appropriate offices for assistance.

Maintain the upmost confidentiality with matters pertaining to students, faculty, staff, complaints and external constituencies.

General Office Duties

Complete, process and follow up on payment requests.

Perform photocopying, filing, file maintenance and fulfill file requests.

Open, stamp, and sort incoming mail and distribute to the appropriate person. Prepare outgoing mailings and distribute.

Answer telephone calls and greet visitors, directing the individual to the appropriate person/department.

Respond to emails on a timely basis.



Job Requirements:

Associate's Degree in a related field.

Three to five years of recent administrative support or secretarial experience.

Proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite.

Ability to interact in a professional manner with members of the School of Law community, the University and external contacts.

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in a related field.

Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, with a diverse learning community.

Experience in a school or university setting.

At the University's discretion, the education and experience prerequisites may be accepted where the candidate can demonstrate, to the satisfaction of the University, an equivalent combination of education and experience specifically preparing the candidate for success in the position.
