POSITION SUMMARY

The Business Intelligence Partner will collaborate with department business managers and operational leadership to define business problems and build solutions that provide meaningful insights to drive operational and financial improvement. This position requires advanced financial, analytical, and technical skills to help the organization drive successful performance. The Business Intelligence Partner performs detailed analyses of their assigned service line, developing dashboards to monitor performance and identifying issues and opportunities.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION: Bachelor's degree in a related field required, Master's degree preferred. (e.g., healthcare informatics, information systems)

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION: n/a

EXPERIENCE: The Business Intelligence Developer/Partner has a strong experience in SQL, including data transformation, stored procedures, and query optimization, along with proficiency in building dashboards using Power BI or Tableau. They have a solid understanding of healthcare data standards such as HIPAA, and experience working with EMR and claims-based data sets, with quality reporting preferred. Exposure to Python or R for automation is a plus. The role requires the ability to collaborate with stakeholders to define data needs, translate requirements into technical solutions, and effectively present insights to leadership. Experience with data integration, governance, and using analytics to drive operational improvements is also highly valued.

PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS

The Business Intelligence Partner plays a key role in advancing organizational goals by leveraging data to drive informed decision-making and operational improvements. This position is responsible for designing and executing complex SQL queries and scripts to extract, transform, and analyze data from multiple sources, ensuring accuracy and integrity throughout. The Partner collaborates closely with stakeholders to understand their data needs and business requirements, translating them into actionable technical specifications for effective BI solutions. They integrate data from various internal and external systems, including databases and spreadsheets, and work with vendors to develop custom data extracts and manage automated data exchanges.

Using tools such as Power BI and Tableau, the Business Intelligence Partner builds interactive dashboards that provide clear and impactful data visualizations to business and operational leaders. Through in-depth data exploration and knowledge of relational database structures, they identify root causes of performance issues and deliver solutions that optimize efficiency, reduce costs, manage risk, and maintain regulatory compliance. The Partner also plays a key role in communicating analytical findings to stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership, and offers recommendations to enhance the quality of healthcare delivery.

Additionally, the Partner promotes a culture of collaboration by sharing insights, systems, and best practices with peers. They train and support end users in navigating and interpreting dashboards to support a self-service analytics environment. Finally, the Business Intelligence Partner actively monitors BI performance and contributes to the implementation of data governance policies to uphold data quality and security across the organization.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

This position requires sitting, standing, walking, and crouching for a majority of the workday. This position works with equipment such as computer terminal, fax machines, printer, and copier. This position may require occasional lifting.
