Located in Greater Boston, MassBay is a comprehensive, open-access community college offering associate degrees and certificate programs on three campuses in Wellesley Hills, Framingham, and Ashland, Massachusetts.

Position Summary:

The ideal candidate will join a vibrant andinclusive educational community and have a desire and ability to work with adiverse population. The Career Coachwill be part of the Career Services Team and assist students in careerexploration and development, internship and job search, and industry outreachand engagement. The Career Coach will also track participant activity andoutcomes.

KeyResponsibilities and Duties:

  • Assist students and alumni in exploring career/academic pathways and developing effective job search strategies (including resume and cover letter writing, interview preparation, and networking techniques);

  • Identify and connect students with appropriate internship, employment, and mentoring opportunities;

  • Track student progress, including follow-up and compliance reporting;

  • Collaborate with students to develop personalized action plans and timelines for achieving career milestones;

  • Track student progress and outcomes, and provide ongoing support and follow-up as needed;

  • Participate in creating and conducting workshops, seminars, and events focused on career development; and

  • Stay updated on industry trends, job market insights, and best practices in career coaching;

  • Participate in weekly meeting with Career Services team.

Required Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in marketing, business, counseling, higher education or closely-related field; with three (3) years experience and/or training that includes career counseling, job development, and placement experience; or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience;

  • Proven experience in career coaching, counseling, or related roles, with a strong understanding of career development theories and practices;

  • Knowledge of job search strategies, resume writing, interview techniques, and career assessment tools;

  • Experience working with a diverse population; and

  • Excellentcommunication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport andmotivate individuals.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Sensitivity and commitment to the goals of Affirmative Action and workforce diversity;

  • Experience working in a diverse environment; and

  • Demonstrates commitment to working with underserved students.

Additional Information:

Salary Range: $35.00 Hourly Wage
