Job/Position Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing manufacturing processes in a CNC machine shop environment. This role involves close collaboration with machinists, quality assurance, production planning, and design engineering teams to ensure efficient, cost-effective, and high-quality production.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Design and develop CNC machining processes for new and existing products

  • Create and optimize CNC programs using CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, Fusion 360, etc.)

  • Develop setup sheets, tooling requirements, and work instructions

  • Select appropriate cutting tools, fixturing, and machining strategies

  • Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions

  • Work with machinists to reduce cycle times and improve part quality

  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives (lean manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S)

  • Conduct time studies and analyze production metrics to increase efficiency

  • Ensure processes comply with quality, safety, and regulatory standards

  • Support NPI (New Product Introduction) and provide DFM feedback to design teams

  • Maintain documentation of processes and revisions in accordance with ISO or AS9100 standards

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)

  • 3+ years of experience in a manufacturing or CNC machining environment

  • Strong knowledge of CNC machines (mills, lathes, 3- to 5-axis equipment)

  • Proficient in CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam, Fusion 360)

  • Understanding of GD&T, blueprint reading, and precision measurement tools

  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement practices

  • Familiarity with ERP/MRP systems and shop floor data collection tools
