Scope
Responsible for Quality Management System compliance.
Manage all Mobile SBU quality policies, procedures, processes, programs, and practices, to assure the company of continuous conformance with appropriate standards and regulations and the continuous improvement of the system.
Provide management of document control, quality audits, and process improvement.
Perform various duties required to support ISO Audits & Compliance, as well as a variety of duties involved with internal and external auditing of various processes and management of corrective actions, following standard established methods, procedures, practices and policies, with passion and in alignment with our mission, vision, values & operating principles.
Other various duties to be jointly determined as required.
Experience, Education and Skills
Minimum 3 years’ experience in Fluid Power Industry with an AAS Degree in Fluid Power.
Demonstrated experience working with manufacturers, suppliers, or distributors.
Hands-on experience working with multiple product lines.
Demonstrated exceptional written and oral communication skills.
Experience or Willingness to learn quality management systems.
Knowledge of, or willingness to learn quality system audits under ISO 9001:2015 guidelines is required.
Desire to make decisions and take responsibility for outcomes.
Willingness to travel when required.
Willingness to continually embrace personal and professional development.
Excellent computer skills – Microsoft Office – proficient with Excel, Word, Teams and PowerPoint.
Experience with Trend computer system or ability to learn the system.
Thorough knowledge of, or the ability learn ISO 9001, PLEX, ASSENT, ETQ Reliance, DBWORKS, & QC Pro systems is a requirement.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively.
Demonstrate the ability to handle multiple projects while meeting assigned deadlines.
Ability to obtain Forklift Certification is required.
Essential Functions
Design and implement quality control standards and procedures throughout the corporation by measuring and assessing process and equipment capability using complex methods and initiate/promote continuous improvement across the Mobile SBU.
Perform root cause analysis and lead corrective/preventive action initiatives.
Ensure proper use of tools and gauging and that calibration requirements are met each year.
Finalize product inspection procedures and perform inspections when necessary.
Ensure material requisitions and certifications meet requirements of material specifications.
Establish, implement and maintain the Business Management System.
Create and publish communications on quality topics to inspire, influence, and encourage team members to engage in process refinement and the continual improvement of performance results.
Identify and manage the continual improvement activities to enhance the quality system, such as 5S, Kaizen lean methods, etc.
Develop and conduct training to build quality awareness. improvement topics
Interface with Engineering, Sales, Operations, and Suppliers to ensure transfer to Production of new products in accordance with requirements.
Develops quality plans for hydraulic, electrical systems, and customer fabricated reservoirs and enclosures.
Conduct product and process audits, create audit reports and initiate proper corrective and preventive actions.
Complete and manage the closing of external audit findings and opportunities for improvement.
Analyze field failures with production shops, and initiate corrective and preventive action to respond to customer complaints.
Create and maintain company Business Management System documentation, such as quality manuals, quality procedures, manufacturing procedures, and quality plans.
Responsible for planning, organizing and managing the overall activities of quality control functions.
Ensure timely resolution of supplier failure, corrective actions and preventive actions.
Manage supplier performance and conduct supplier audits with purchasing team.
Preparation of QA reports for internal and external use.
Train employees in the proper use of Quality procedures and Best Practices.
Promote quality achievement and performance improvement throughout the organization
Ensure test procedures are properly understood, carried out and evaluated and that product modifications are investigated, if necessary, in partnership with engineering.
Bring together staff of different disciplines, driving the group to plan, formulate and agree to comprehensive quality procedures.
Formulate and manage the development and implementation of goals, objectives, policies, procedures and systems pertaining to the QA/QC.
Set-up and maintain controls and documentation procedures.
Liaising with customer auditors and ensuring the execution of corrective action and compliance with customer’s specifications.
Monitor process and product performance by gathering relevant data and creating/producing statistical tools and reports when required.
Identify relevant quality related training needs, create and deliver training.
Approve ECN updates through DBWORKS.
Manage & submit PPAP requests for multiple product lines at customer’s request using web-based platforms specified by each customer.
Manage Work in Process (WIP) for production shops
Manage yearly calibration certification of shop torque tools, measurement tools, and test stand gauges for multiple locations.
Manage shop tool logs for active and inactive tools through Excel and QC Pro.
Perform inbound freight inspections and flag future shipments for quality inspections when required.
Perform damaged freight inspections in partnership with warehouse associates when required.
Perform final assembly inspections from production shops when required.
Process DMR’s (Defective Material Reports) for production shops and work with warehouse inventory to address quality issues.
