Responsibilities- Drive the mass-adoption of Connected Portables, while influencing software and services through thoughtful design & development
- Deeply understand our customers, markets and competitors to produce valuable customer insight that can be turned into profitable features, products and services that our customers love
- Build a strategy that is robust, progressive, forward-thinking and drives accelerated business performance with sustainable competitive advantage, time-to-market and development efficiency
- Be the financial “go-to” for your product by building models for pricing, unit volumes, margins, etc
- Support go-to-market initiatives by developing messaging strategies, training plans, phase in-phase out plans, spec sheets and other collateral, along with other required efforts to launch new products at MSA
- Collaborate across teams to maintain a product roadmap that reflects strategic direction, business needs, and cross-functional input
- Work collaboratively with engineering to build software-intensive, tech-driven hardware that keeps pace with rapidly accelerating market needs & adoption
- Get close to the customer and embrace a continuous discovery/VOC mindset (inspired by Marty Cagan’s Product Model) to ensure we’re solving the right problems and building the right product. Partner closely with design and engineering from concept to launch and beyond to deliver an exceptional end-to-end experience
- Work methodically to tackle complex problems and confidently make decisions, sometimes with limited data available
- Work cross-functionally across the business - engineering, design, operations, sales, marketing - to drive tangible business value and results and progressive approaches in a period of accelerated transformation
- Communicate effectively up, down, and across the business to increase buy-in, build excitement, and align on business expectations
- Ruthless prioritization & focus on features, products, services and efforts that deliver maximum business value to avoid organizational distractions
- Get things done - setting expectations for excellence and hitting key performance indicators that are aggressive & challenging
QualificationsKnowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- A tremendous passion for changing the face of worker and worksite safety in a technology-powered world
- Proven history of developing and launching new products in a B2B or a B2C environment
- Experience working collaboratively and successfully within a new product development team, especially on products with a software component
- Demonstrated ability to solve complex problems and execute many tasks in parallel with minimal resources
- Outstanding organization, communication, presentation and leadership through influence skills
- Excellent analytical and quantitative skills with a demonstrated data-driven mindset
- Highly adaptive to frequent change - you don't just accept it, it's when you do your best work.
- An uncanny ability to embracing a learning mindset on connected and software technologies
- Capable of becoming a trusted subject matter expert on gas detection principles, worker safety and global regulations, market trends, competitive intel, user personas
- A love & knack for seeing, understanding and implementing outstanding design - from intuitive user interfaces to frictionless user experiences - with evidence to back it up
- Ability to travel 10-20%
Education and Experience Required:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Engineering or related technical discipline
- This position is available at four different career levels based upon experience:
- Level I: 4 years of experience in marketing, sales or engineering
- Level II: 5 years of experience in marketing, sales or engineering
- Level III: 7 years of experience in marketing, sales or engineering
- MBA or related graduate degree may be substituted for up to 2 years of experience
Experience Preferred:
- Experience in IoT or IIoT start-ups or at major tech companies
- Experience working in a stage-gate environment
- Experience owning a product, cradle-through-grave
