Summary
The Senior Manager - Consolidation holds a critical leadership role responsible for overseeing, advancing, and optimizing the global consolidation process, including the preparation and analysis of the statement of cash flows. Reporting directly to the Director - Accounting, this role serves as a trusted financial partner driving financial integrity and process excellence across the organization.
Primary Duties / Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership and full ownership of the monthly global consolidation process, ensuring accurate and timely elimination of intercompany transactions and full compliance with U.S. GAAP.
- Champion the identification, investigation, and resolution of complex consolidation discrepancies by collaborating cross-functionally with subsidiaries, business units, and key stakeholders.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve standardized best practices, leveraging technology to streamline consolidation activities and enhance reporting accuracy.
- Conduct detailed variance analysis to detect and interpret unusual or significant fluctuations in account balances, providing actionable insights to Controllership.
- Lead and enforce SOX compliance controls related to consolidation processes, ensuring robust internal controls and audit readiness.
- Spearhead the implementation of automated solutions for consolidated cash flow statement preparation, enhancing efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
- Oversee the comprehensive review and validation of the monthly Statement of Cash Flows, ensuring alignment with corporate financial reporting standards.
- Partner with the broader accounting team to support quarterly financial statement close processes, including the critical review of disclosures and footnotes.
- Directly manage, mentor, and develop a team of accounting professionals, fostering a high-performance, collaborative environment.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to Controllership on all consolidation-related matters and contribute to broader finance transformation initiatives.
- Execute additional strategic initiatives and special projects as assigned
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in Accounting required;
- 5-10 years progressive experience in consolidation, financial accounting, or corporate reporting, preferably within complex, multi-entity organizations.
- CPA certification or actively pursuing (recommended, but not required)
- Proven ability to lead and influence cross-functional teams and build strong partnerships across multi-level organizations.
- Exceptional analytical and critical thinking skills, with a keen eye for detail and process improvement opportunities.
- Superior communication skills, capable of effectively presenting complex financial information to Finance leadership.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial systems, with demonstrated experience in PeopleSoft or similar ERP platforms.
- Demonstrated leadership experience, including direct management of staff and project teams.
- A proactive self-starter with exceptional problem-solving capabilities and a commitment to excellence.
- Strong ethical standards and a high degree of professionalism.
