Overview

Sev1Tech is seeking a talented and detail-oriented Senior Technical Writer to join our Army Tactical Network IPS team on-site in Aberdeen MD. As a Senior Technical Writer, you will play a vital role in creating clear and concise documentation for technical processes, products, and systems.

 

Responsibilities: 

  • Advises, manages, and mentors personnel assigned to technical documentation function.
  • Interfaces with engineers and technical professionals in writing, editing and publishing various types of documents (e.g., test plans, test reports, survey reports).
  • Oversees in-house production flow of technical publications.
  • Tracks and monitors flow of all documents from inception to distribution of final copies.
  • Identifies and corrects problem areas as they arise.
  • Provides final quality assurance check for all document deliverables.
  • Participates in department and company-wide proposal writing projects.
  • Often serves as proposal coordinator for large production efforts.
  • Possesses and applies a comprehensive knowledge across key tasks and high impact assignments.
  •  Plans and leads major technology assignments.
  • Evaluates performance results and recommends major changes affecting short-term project growth and success.
  • May supervise others.


Responsibilities

  • Must have a SECRET level clearance
  • Bachelor’s or advanced degree from an accredited academic institution or military school in English or Journalism
  • Minimum of six (6) years' professional technical writing experience producing technical documentation on programs supporting projects of similar scope and complexity to this requirement
  • Experience with MIL STD 40051
