Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) through the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RDS) through Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)
Physical Requirements
This position will require the ability to lift and transport objects up to or exceeding 50 lbs; engage in repetitive motion; risk of injury from use of equipment on the job; and occasional exposure to loud noises.
Shift
Primarily Monday-Friday, 8am-5pm, with some evening and weekend coverage per department need.
Job Summary
The Lead Echo Sonographer will provide clinical/technical leadership as well as echocardiology imaging for the UKHC Gill Heart Institute. This Lead Sonographer will perform examinations and procedures according to practice standards; assist with daily operations of the echo lab; provide leadership to the Echo lab staff including ensuring compliance with applicable policies and procedures, providing input on staff performance evaluations, assisting with departmental workflow, and planning new staff orientation and training; and function as the clinical, technical expert in sonography imaging within the Echo Lab, ensuring quality standards are met. This person will be expected to seek professional development, including maintaining required credentials.
