PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Loan Insurance Specialist will be responsible for the review, maintenance, and processing of all insurance documents for the commercial and residential loan servicing teams. They will be responsible for the management of our hazard, homeowners and forced placed flood policies, as well as all the monitoring of all properties with flood insurance. 

 

Starting At: $50,000 annually

 

Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM; 37.5-hour work week

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Open and process the insurance mail daily. 
  • Homeowners, hazard and liability cancellations to be tracked & maintained.
  • Follow up on expired and/or missing flood policies. 
  • Scan Flood policies to existing Client’s folders or create folder for New Clients & complete checklists for all policies received.
  • Every month, review and pay for the Annual Flood Bills for residential lending. 
  • Manage our third-party flood management system, TEJ. This includes, but is not limited to the following:
  • Upload flood bills
  • Process weekly reports
  • Upload new loan policies to the system
  • Upload monthly flood reports to the system
  • All other duties as assigned.

 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

  • 2-4 years of experience with commercial or residential flood and homeowners insurance regulations.
  • Working knowledge of loans and lending documentation.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite products, specifically Excel and Word.
  • Proficient math and/or accounting skills.
  • Experience working for an insurance carrier, preferred.
  • Understanding and knowledge of diverse insurance policies.

WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Working conditions are those of an “open” office environment, which can require the ability to manage some stress such as noise level from customers, employees, and general office equipment, etc.  Daily use of wrists, hands, and fingers: to use computer, telephone, fax, copier, and general office equipment.  Ability to hear and speak clearly for gathering simple to complex information from both customers and co-workers.  Sitting for extended periods (up to 8 hours) of time, standing and walking up to 15% of work time.  Ability to bend and lift coin boxes, up to approximately 25lbs.  Ability to operate a motor vehicle for travel within branch network.
