GENERAL DESCRIPTION:

Responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining safety and security programs to ensure a safe and compliant workplace. This role supports both field and office teams, manages safety-related documentation and systems, and plays a key role in risk mitigation and operational support.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

General Responsibilities

  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety and security policies and procedures in compliance with OSHA and company standards.
  • Conduct regular site inspections, risk assessments, and safety audits.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses; document findings and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
  • Manage and maintain the ISN database and other safety compliance platforms.
  • Track and update Certificates of Insurance (COIs) and ensure vendor compliance.
  • Assist with sales proposals and bid submissions, including providing safety-related documentation and support.
  • Maintain accurate safety records and documentation; prepare reports for leadership as needed.
  • Lead and coordinate safety training sessions for employees and contractors.
  • Oversee physical security protocols for company facilities and job sites.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for emergency response planning and crisis management.
  • Be available 24/7 for safety-related emergencies or escalations.
  • Collaborate with operations and HR on return-to-work programs and modified duty plans.
  • Support contractor management and ensure third-party compliance with safety standards.
  • Lead safety meetings and actively promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
  • Manage and conduct employee training on safety procedures and expectations; oversee SDS accessibility and training.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for client and internal safety concerns; attend client safety meetings as needed.
  • Oversee contractor safety and onboarding processes.
  • Lead Workers’ Compensation claims and incident follow-up in coordination with HR.

KEY SELECTION AND SUCCESS FACTORS

WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 5+ years of experience in safety, security, fleet, or facilities management (combination preferred)
  • Demonstrated ability to manage vendors, lead teams, and execute capital projects
  • Office furniture experience preferred

EDUCATION/QUALIFICATIONS:

  • College degree in Occupational Safety, Safety Management or a related field strongly preferred. An additional 5 years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree with OSHA Certification
  • Proficiency with ISNetworld or similar safety management platforms.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and documentation accuracy.
  • Familiarity with COI tracking and contractor compliance processes.
  • Ability to support cross-functional teams, including operations, HR, and sales.
  • Willingness to be on call and respond to emergencies at any time.

OTHER/PREFERRED:

  • Ability to lead others, gain respect of all levels of employees and model safety throughout the organization
  • Must be able to answer calls from alarm companies, etc during any hour and day (approximately 5-8 per month)
  • Knowledge of Texas Workers Compensation rules and regulations
  • Must have excellent facilitation skills
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong interpersonal skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Able to travel to customer and other job sites and respond to emergencies as needed
  • Able to travel to customer and other job sites (approximately 5 site visits per week/5-7 days per month in Austin)

  • Employee continuously sits using the computer, talking on the phone, processing project paper work, and attending. Duration up to 7 hours per day
  • Employee constantly reaches out during work at desk. Height forward reach waist to chest; Frequency up to 30 times per hour
  • Employee must rarely bend, squat, stoop, or kneel during filing tasks.
  • Employee is occasionally exposed to ambient temperatures in the warehouse.
