SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineering Technician II.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

Job Summary: SEACORP's Imaging Business Area has an immediate opening for an Engineering Technician in support ofSubmarine Electronics. The ideal candidate is expectedto be able to familiarize themselves with all EW system hardware includingunderstanding commonality between the various systems. A background in Radio Frequency (RF) or Submarine Electronic Warfare (EW) systems is a plus.

Job Responsibilities Include:

  • Electro-Mechanical fabrication in a small production type environment following work packages.
  • Soldering.
  • System and Component level testing including Radio Frequency (RF) and electrical testing.
  • Quality Assurance.
  • Read and interpret drawings and schematics efficiently.
  • Mechanical assembly.

Qualifications:

Education: A Degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering is recommended. In lieu ofeducational criteria, significant technical work experience such as active-dutymilitary or prior work in this area is acceptable.

Experience: Experience with AN/BVY-1 (V) Imaging Naval Imagingsystems and/or AN/BLQ-10 a plus.

Ideal Skills and experience:

  • A strong background with electrical and electronic equipment and components with the ability to read and understand schematics and drawings.
  • Familiar with basic test equipment including Field fox, Digital Voltmeter, Sweep Generator, Network Analyzer and hand tools.
  • Experience with Fiber Optic is a plus.
  • J-STD-001 certification.
  • Individual should be able to work in a fast-paced environment and well versed in Microsoft Office Suite Software.
  • Knowledge of Engineering Change Proposals (ECP’s) and Engineering Change Instructions (ECI’s) as they relate to the Submarine EW systems and perform the necessary maintenance, test, repair, modification, and updating of shipboard equipment and components per GFI drawings as called out in the ECP/ECI’s.
  • An Active Secret Clearance is required on the date of hire.

Work Environment & Physical Demands: Electronics Assembly and Testing Laboratory - Sitting and standing for extended periods of time. Significant use of small hand and electrical tools that require fine motor skills. Significant use of computers, including use of a mouse and keyboard as well as viewing computer screens. Occasional lifting <40 lbs.; infrequent lifting of <40lbs., occasional twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, kneeling and squatting. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions for temperature and lighting, with some potential exposure to fumes associated with soldering. Personal Protective Equipment: safety glasses and safety shoes recommended.
