OVERVIEW:

The Procurement P2 position is responsible for the procurement and planning of commodities, raw materials, resale items, equipment, supplies, and services for both domestic and international requirements. This role supports efficient supply chain operations through strategic sourcing, supplier performance management, contract negotiation, cost reduction, and ensuring compliance with company policies and quality standards.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Procure and/or plan assigned commodities (materials, equipment, services) as delegated, ensuring optimal quality, cost, and timely delivery.
  • Select and evaluate suppliers; negotiate contracts and pricing with supervision.
  • Implement framework agreements to achieve measurable year-over-year cost savings and performance metrics.
  • Collaborate with plants, suppliers, and KSB Category Managers to align on requirements and ensure supply chain performance.
  • Analyze and validate purchase requests; review and negotiate supplier bids with focus on optimal scheduling and technical requirements.
  • Initiate and implement supplier cost reduction and avoidance programs (e.g., stocking agreements, payment terms, rebates).
  • Resolve supplier-related issues that affect quality, cost, or schedule; take corrective action and negotiate adjustments as necessary.
  • Maintain SAP master data accuracy for assigned commodities.
  • Approve payments for materials and manage vendor invoicing systems.
  • Perform and document supplier audits and annual reviews in accordance with company procedures.
  • Support Inventory Management in determining optimal lot sizes and coordinate with Transportation to ensure cost-effective shipping.
  • Collaborate with R&D and design teams to coordinate required changes for purchased materials.
  • Ensure compliance with ISO, Supplier Certification, and Continuous Improvement Programs.
  • Handle export/import documentation, including country of origin certification.
  • Provide analytical support and root cause analysis for procurement-related challenges.
  • Serve as SAP Key User if assigned; travel as needed.
  • Perform other duties as requested by management.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, Finance, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field required.
  • MBA or relevant master’s degree.

Experience:

  • Two (2) to four (4) years of purchasing/procurement experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated skills in sourcing, contract negotiation, cost reduction, and supplier management.
  • Proficient with SAP (or equivalent ERP systems), Microsoft Office Suite, and business communications.
  • C.P.M., CPSM, or APICS certification a plus.

Frequently:

  • Move about the facility, participate in supplier visits and audits, travel as required.
