Description

Leidos’ Security Enterprise Solutions (SES) operation is seeking a motivated and talented Associate Data Engineer to join our multidisciplinary, highly energized, and expert data science team. We are seeking a passionate and detail-oriented Associate Data Engineer, to take full ownership of our data collection processes.  The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the quality, accuracy, and integrity of the data that our Data Science teams rely on.  As a “Data Champion”, you will play a pivotal role in driving our data initiatives and ensuring our data is fit for purpose.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Implement, and manage data collection strategies and methodologies to ensure high-quality data acquisition and data labeling
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, algorithm engineers, and image scientists, to understand data requirements and execute data collections on our equipment that meets their need
  • Ensure the accuracy, completeness, and consistency of collected data files and data labels by performing regular data quality checks and audits
  • Assist with development and documentation for data collection processes and standards
  • Train and support technician team members on best practices for data collection, labeling, and usage
  • Assist with cataloging inventory of simulants, detection targets, and clutter objects, and work hands-on with these materials to execute data collections
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in data collection techniques and tools.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a science or engineering field
  • Experience through academic work, internships, etc. in data collection, data management, or similar role
  • Familiarity with data collection tools and technologies (e.g., SQL, Python, etc.)
  • Solid analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy and integrity
  • Ability to work with various teams and stakeholders and take ownership of projects
  • Ability and willingness to work hands-on with materials and equipment required to execute a data collection plan
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills

Pay Range:

Pay Range $55,250.00 - $99,875.00
