Description

The Clinical Counselor Supervisor coordinates and oversees Non-Medical Counseling tasks for Remote Clinical Counselors and Remote Centralized Scheduling. They collaborate with NAFI representatives (Department of Defense organization) on staff schedules, performance, and service quality, participate in NAFI QA activities, and conduct quarterly record reviews following Navy privileging requirements. They summarize QA findings for the Counseling and Advocacy Program POC, ensure counseling services meet FFSP (Navy Fleet and Family Support Program) standards, and monitor counselor training, compliance, and productivity. They also ensure accurate documentation in FFSMIS (Fleet and Family Support Management Information System), maintain data security per telework and CNIC telehealth guidelines, and may provide clinical counseling and assist with Sailor Assistance and Intercept for Life (SAIL) if needed. They track service metrics, maintain resource directories, and may offer temporary surge support as authorized.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise non-medical counselors, ensure quality of counseling services through development and ensuring adherence to NMC (Non-Medical Counseling) case management protocols, program delivery criteria, and identifying gaps in existing services
  • Monitor outcomes data, audits, case reviews, and customer feedback metrics
  • Provide coaching and routine, organized feedback as well as clinical support and professional development to counselors
  • Collaborate with Director and Program Management to align with NFFSP (Navy Fleet and Family Support Program) objectives and assist in the continuous improvement of service delivery
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of supervisory activities, staff performance, and outcomes
  • Identify training gaps/needs and opportunities for staff development, ensuring counselors are up-to-date with industry standards and certifications
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth within the counselor team
  • Foster strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders
  • Act as a liaison between the counseling team and other NFFSP functional areas, ensuring seamless service integration
  • Make sure all counseling activities comply with applicable regulations, ethical standards, and program requirements
  • Monitor and report on team performance, service utilization, and client outcomes to program leadership
  • Manage the timely and accurate submission of reports, documentation, and record keeping in accordance with program protocols

Requirements

  • Master's degree in counseling accredited by the Council for Accreditation of Counseling and related educational programs; a Master's degree in social work accredited by the Council on Social Work Education; a Master's degree in marriage and family therapy accredited by the Commission on Accreditation of Marriage and Family Therapy Education, or a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology and a one-year clinical internship accredited by the American Psychological Association
  • Must have obtained and retained a current, valid, and unrestricted clinical license or certification from a state or U.S. territory authorizing independent clinical practice in the fields of professional counseling, clinical social work, marriage and family therapy, or clinical/counseling psychology
  • Each clinical counselor must maintain current clinical credentials and privileges throughout their FFSP (Navy Fleet and Family Support Program) assignment
  • Must have completed  2 years of full-time post-master's supervised clinical experience
  • Counselors must meet the standards of professional and ethical conduct prescribed by their particular discipline or licensing board and demonstrate current clinical competence through direct service clinical experience during the 2 years preceding hire.
  • Must have 4 years of experience supervising Licensed Counselors and projects of similar scope and scale

This position supports the Navy Fleet and Family Support contract. NFFS  delivers comprehensive Fleet and Family Support Program (FFSP) services worldwide, ensuring consistent, high-quality support for active-duty Sailors, retirees, eligible civilians overseas, and their families. The program implements, evaluates, and continually refines established FFSP offerings—developing the concepts, structures, and processes needed to maximize well-being across all installations. Key objectives include providing global staffing to supplement existing FFSP personnel through remote or surge/on-demand support, and delivering webinar hosting, production, and facilitation via a robust learning-management system.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
