Description

Leidos is looking for an experienced, energetic, cleared professional seeking a rewarding and challenging opportunity as a Systems Administrator dedicated to full time support of a Leidos program in the Reston, VA area.  The candidate will ensure all support activities align with program, corporate, and customer technical requirements and goals. Working closely with other IT team members, the candidate will ensure milestones, solutions and schedules are implemented in a timely manner.  The successful candidate will be customer-oriented, flexible, possess good oral and written communications skills, be adaptable to change and will thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic program environment. 

The administrator will be expected to perform advanced systems support to include installation, operations & maintenance, integration, and troubleshooting to maintain optimum Information Technology (IT) system operations. Some areas of expected support will cover maintenance of user accounts, Active Directory, troubleshooting desktop systems, refreshing hardware, troubleshooting network connectivity between the desk and switch and between switches and external circuits, basic cybersecurity remediations, workstation deployment and configuration, and external device connectivity. This individual will work in a team environment to ensure mission needs are met and ensure functionality of capabilities for the customers.


Primary Responsibilities

  • Installing, configuring, testing, and troubleshooting of desktop and peripheral hardware devices consisting of workstations, monitors, phones, printers, and desktop video teleconferencing equipment both on-site and off-site customer locations
  • Performing server administration, security patching and updates, virus protection, operating system updates, basic cybersecurity and backups in the AWS Cloud.
  • Installing, monitoring and maintaining Windows based equipment including workstations and servers utilizing physical and virtual configurations in both development & production environments.
  • Providing administration of support platforms necessary to perform responsibilities and duties to complete customer requests in a timely manner.
  • Managing and maintaining records of all IT related hardware and software inventory to include purchasing, renewal, replacement, and disposal once the equipment is at end of life. Performing de-installation of equipment / decommission site services.
  • Managing the network infrastructure which includes new circuit provisioning, routers, switches, dedicated power service, UPS back up, and outage/maintenance scheduling.
  • Working with technicians in identifying, troubleshooting, and correcting hardware and software issues including warranty/trouble calls and network connectivity. Assists in planning upgrades and replacements for program assets upon reaching their end-of-life cycle.
  • Supporting team and Program leadership as required while ensuring customer requirements and project milestones are met.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have an active TS/SCI with Polygraph
  • Must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 8 years of relevant experience or Masters with at least 6 years of relevant experience.
  • 6 - 8+ years of demonstrated knowledge of IC translation fundamentals and standard operating procedures 
  • Self-starter that can establish priorities, resolve immediate issues, and coordinate with program management on complex problems
  • Demonstrated ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks, adapt quickly to changing requirements, and work independently and on a team
  • Strong interpersonal skills to maintain effective working relationships with team members, customers, and outside vendors
  • Strong oral and written communication skills to compose and deliver responses to customers’ questions in a clear and concise manner
  • Experience with standard Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Windows Desktop and Server OS. AWS and SQL Server experience is a plus.
  • Proven ability to communicate processes and procedures to program employees, partner organizations, and customer base
  • Proven experience streamlining processes and procedures
  • Experience with logistics and inventory management
  • Basic knowledge of networking concepts, IP addressing, switches, firewalls, and LAN connectivity.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $89,700.00 - $162,150.00
