Leidos Defense Systems Manufacturing Sector is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to join our Platform Integration team located in Huntsville, Alabama.  The position will perform a key function serving as the manufacturing manager for a manufacturing facility performing work on hypersonic weapon systems, to include ongoing production, improved manufacturing of existing designs, and prototype manufacturing and flight hardware machining. This role will lead manufacturing machining activities to ensure appropriate planning, organizing, and execution of manufacturing scope for Hypersonic Weapon Systems, is achieved. The Manufacturing Manager will work closely with Program leadership, Manufacturing Site leaders, and manufacturing program managers, and the workforce.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead manufacturing machining efforts to support Hypersonic system component machining, including ongoing and prototype production activities.

  • Design and validation of tooling and other manufacturing work aids.

  • Incorporation of machining process techniques.

  • Create and maintain work instructions.

  • Identify and execute on continuous improvement projects.

  • Identify and reduce risks in the production processes.

  • Support and use of Solumina MES.

  • Plan and maintain production flow through MRP system, including change management and make/buy designation.

  • Ensure smooth transition of MBOM to Material Planning team.

  • Support estimating with review of new opportunities.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree with at least 8 years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Experience with manufacturing, and machining of hypersonic vehicles components or similar high speed flight hardware.

  • Experience with CNC machining processes and operations.

  • Experience with MRP/ERP systems, as well as PLM and MES software.

  • Proficient understanding of GD&T.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Products, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project and Visio.

  • Must be a resident of, or be willing to relocate to, the Huntsville, AL area.

  • Must be a US Citizen and possess (and be able to maintain) a Final Secret Clearance OR meet the eligibility to obtain (and maintain) a Secret Clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience in Deltek Costpoint.

  • Current Secret Security Clearance.

  • Proficient understanding of AS9100 and AS6500 standards.

Pay Range:

Pay Range $112,450.00 - $203,275.00
