Position: Engineering Manager
Type: Full Time
Location: Pierceton, IN
Reports to: Plant Manager
Shift: Onsite, Days
Overview:
The Engineering Manager has five (5) direct reports and leads and coordinates all engineering functions at the facility, including program management, manufacturing and die cast process engineering, CNC/tooling procurement, and equipment installation. This role is critical in driving process innovation, ensuring product quality, and launching new programs on time and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
· Lead new product/process development and equipment installation.
· Manage procurement of CNC machines and die casting equipment.
· Oversee cost-effective design, acquisition, and lifecycle management of die cast and CNC tooling.
· Direct projects from inception through customer approval and tool retirement.
· Ensure compliance with customer mechanical property requirements via effective heat treatment processes.
· Drive technological advancement and continuous improvement in engineering operations.
· Support quoting and technical sales for new business opportunities.
· Ensure adherence to environmental, safety, and company standards.
· Maintain budget compliance and cost efficiency.
Required Skills and Experience:
· Bachelor's in Mechanical, Manufacturing, or Industrial Engineering (Master's preferred).
· 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in die casting and machining.
· Strong problem-solving and statistical analysis skills.
· Proficient in lean manufacturing (5S, TPM, SMED, Kanban, etc.).
· Experience with IATF 16949, APQP, FMEA, 8D, and related quality systems.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office; SolidWorks and AutoCAD experience preferred.
· Bonus: Experience with PLC/Fanuc robots, Six Sigma (PDCA/DMAIC), ISO standards.
