PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Oversight of the Digital Fabrication studio and equipment, and woodworking studio and equipment, as utilized by students and faculty for a wide range of purposes related to Studio Arts coursework and research.

• Oversee and ensure the upkeep of the labs and studios as related to equipment, space, storage, and materials.

• Commitment to safety, and the proper and appropriate use of tools, materials, and processes in the studio.

• Hold flexible but regular schedule of hours distributed over 4-5 days (35 hours/week) to assist students and faculty with coursework and research, studio maintenance, equipment upkeep/repair, and other tasks.

• Hire, train, and manage student worker and digital lab/woodshop schedule.

• Works with and reports directly to the Director of Fabrication.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• BA/BFA or MFA in Studio Arts or equivalent with relevant experience.

• Broad experience with the creative process and the technical aspects of studio arts as related to digital fabrication and woodworking techniques, processes, equipment, and materials.

• Experience with laser cutting, plotters/vinyl cutters, 3D printing, CNC routing, and woodworking related processes and equipment maintenance/repair.

• Excellent organizational, interpersonal, collaborative, and communication skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (in addition to those above):

• Previous experience maintaining digital fabrication equipment and materials, woodworking equipment and related materials, and studio/classroom oversight.

• Previous experience supporting students and faculty with coursework and research.

• Candidates should be able to accommodate changing demands in a busy shop environment
