Responsibilities

As the Customer Support Specialist, you will work closely with the Techincal Support Specialists'.  Your role is to enhance the quality for our  customer’s by ensuring the optimal performance of JBT Marel’s cleaners, fungicides, and coating products. You will verify all treatments meet specifications and provide technical support for the Fresh Fruit Preservation product line.  You will report to the Field Service Supervisor. 

 

Responsibilities: 

You will work closely with the Service Advisors by: 

  • Assess packinghouse operations, including inventory and fruit conditions. 
  • Conduct spore assays and collaborate on fungicide strategies and decay control. 
  • Evaluate the degreening processes and participate in equipment surveys. 
  • Understand and contribute to Food Safety processes. 
  • Deliver training on decay control, degreening, and sanitation. 

Requirements: 

  • High school diploma or GED required. 
  • Basic understanding of agricultural practices (pre- and post-harvest). 
  • Familiarity with citrus crops, stone fruit, vegetables, pomegranates, and their life cycles. 
  • Knowledge of food safety practices and guidelines, including the Food Safety Modernization Act. 
  • Bilingual in Spanish highly preferred
  • Availability for extended hours during the busy season.  

 

Work Environment or Physical Demands: 

  • Movement: Regular walking, standing, and occasional climbing or balancing within packinghouse facilities. 
  • Lifting: Ability to lift and carry items up to 50 pounds. 
  • Hand Use: Frequent use of hands and fingers for handling equipment and performing tasks. 
  • Vision: Good vision for inspecting equipment and monitoring operations. 
  • Communication: Effective verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Environment: Ability to work in various conditions, including outdoor weather and noisy or dusty environments. 

 

Travel: 

75%-80% travel to customer facilities within Central California, to maintain washing and application systems, offering improvements. 

Requires a valid CA driver's license and the ability to drive for extended periods. Company vehicle is provided.

 

Compensation Range: $40,000.00 to $60,000.00. Compensation is determined on experience and skill.
