We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Survey Crew Chief / Trainer to join our growing team. This dual-role position is split between leading field operations and training entry-level team members, playing a key role in developing the next generation of survey professionals. It’s an excellent opportunity for a seasoned surveyor who takes pride in delivering high-quality fieldwork and is equally passionate about mentorship. Training & DevelopmentÂ
Train and mentor entry-level survey technicians and crew members on field procedures, equipment usage, and safety practices
Develop and deliver practical, hands-on training sessions focused on foundational surveying tasks and expectations
Evaluate trainee performance and provide constructive feedback to support their growth and technical proficiency
Promote a team-oriented, learning-driven culture that emphasizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement
Coordinate with the Survey Manager to align training efforts with project demands and staffing needs
Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Survey Crew Chief or in a similar field leadership role
Strong understanding of survey principles, construction layout, and control networks
Proven experience training or mentoring junior field staff
Ability to read and interpret engineering and construction documents
Proficient in using total stations, GPS, data collectors, and related surveying tools
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
High school diploma or equivalent required; formal surveying education or technical certifications preferred
