We value teamwork and collaboration, and this transition allows us to take that commitment to a new level. nSI empowers our customers by supplying products, services, and expertise with powerful, data driven insights that transform defense systems and improve capabilities.

We are pleased to announce the opening for a Systems Engineer (with a Digital Engineering focus) who will join our Teams Next – Systems Engineering & Analyses team in Huntsville, AL and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. You will be part of a team known for the digital transformation of the Missile Defense Agency’s architecture, processes, and programs.

Responsibilities:

You’ll be part of a dynamic team of government civilians and defense contractors supporting the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Director’s vision for digital transformation. This includes implementing new tools and modern architectures to overhaul the Agency’s systems engineering processes and products. A primary focus will be developing the Government Reference Architecture—an integrated, cloud-based framework that enables collaborative development, testing, and integration of tactical software. The architecture will support role-based tools and customized views for users at all levels. This effort aims to transition the Agency away from inefficient document-heavy workflows and reliance on email toward a modern digital ecosystem that enables real-time, multi-user collaboration and automates or eliminates traditional documentation requirements.

Basic Qualifications:

  • You must have a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution. A STEM degree is preferred.
  • You will need 5 years of full-time professional experience working on missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project. Prefer 7 years of experience to qualify for the position without requiring a waiver from the government.
  • You must possess or can obtain an active Secret clearance.
  • You must be a U.S. citizen to be eligible for this position.

Lacking any one of these disqualifies you from this job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of digital engineering tools and methodologies
  • Software development and programming experience
  • Applied experience with systems modeling and MBSE toolsets
  • Strong analytical and technical documentation review capabilities
  • Proven ability to apply systems engineering principles to architectural development
  • Experience driving and implementing effective systems engineering practices
  • Expertise in System-of-Systems (SoS) architecture development and analysis
  • Familiarity with Government Reference Architecture frameworks
  • Demonstrated ability to integrate Reference Architectures within SoS environments
  • Comprehensive experience in requirements development, traceability, and lifecycle management
  • Multi-domain architecture expertise spanning business strategy, process optimization, software development, and logistics management
  • Strong commitment to continuous learning in Systems Engineering disciplines
