Patient Admissions Specialist
Provides administrative support services for patient care to include scheduling and confirming a large volume of appointments and surgeries via telephone, web, email, and in-person utilizing exceptional patient and customer service skills. Maintains accurate databases and records and ensures all forms and paperwork are completed and correct. Performs more advanced financial functions.
The Patient Admissions Specialist provides excellent customer service to patients of the Dental School. The Patient Admissions Specialist will greet and assist patients with getting to scheduled appointments; completes patient registration which includes verifying patient dental insurance and entering this information into the patient chart; and is responsible for answering a high volume of patient phone calls, returning messages and scheduling patient appointments. The Patient Admissions Specialist also sends and receives patient x-rays and health record information and processes patient payments.
This position is primarily sedentary; it requires the ability to move around the registration area to assist patients and students; use of keyboard; sitting and standing for extended periods; ability to communicate with others on the phone and in person.
