We are pleased to announce the opening for an entry-level Aerospace Technician, who will join our Technical Solutions division in Huntsville, AL and become part of our rapidly growing technology company operating in missile defense, cybersecurity, test range modernization, biotechnology, and space control marketspaces. The nSI Research and Development (R&D) Team seeks to deploy new products for military and commercial use. As part of the R&D Team at nSI, the successful candidate will possess a strong aptitude, the ability to follow technical instructions and safety protocols, and a passion for aerospace technology.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the design, assembly, integration, test, maintenance, and repair of aerospace components, systems, and prototypes.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Completion of a vocational training program or associate degree in aerospace technology, mechanical engineering, or a related field.
  • Able to work on-site in a lab or high-bay facility setting with tools for extended periods.
  • Possess or be able to obtain an active Secret clearance.
  • U.S. citizen.

Lacking any one of these disqualifies a candidate from this job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Internship or prior hands-on experience in an aerospace related field.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems, tools, and equipment, such as drivers and fasteners, stripping and crimping tools, digital multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
  • Basic experience with computer-aided design (CAD) tools, such as SolidWorks or Fusion360.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craftsmanship.
  • Certification or proficiency with one or more of the following:
    1. Wire harness assembly
      • IPC 610 (J-STD) Soldering
      • IPC 620 Cable Harness Fabrication
      • Familiarity with MIL-SPEC and MIL-STD connectors and accessories
    2. Instrumentation assembly and installation
    3. Mechanical assembly
    4. Electronics assembly and testing
    5. Adhesives and bonding
    6. Composites manufacturing
    7. Additive manufacturing (FDM, SLA, SLS, etc.)
    8. Aerospace painting and surface preparation
    9. Precision measurement tools and techniques
    10. Quality control and safety
