Summary of position:
The Baker Center for Children and Families (also known as Judge Baker Children's Center), promotes the best possible mental health of children and families through the integration of research, intervention, training, and policy.
The MA Child Abuse Emergency Line (Emergency Line), operated by The Baker Center for Children and Families, for the MA Department of Children and Families (DCF), is a statewide emergency response system that provides a critical service to ensure the safety and protection of the Commonwealth's children. The Emergency Line operates 24 hours/day, 7 days/week, 365 days/year, with DCF Area Offices taking calls weekdays 9:00am-5:00pm. The Emergency Line handles nearly 70,000 calls/year.
Supervisors utilize their clinical skills working collaboratively with telephone screeners to assess the urgency of each call, guiding the fact-gathering and critical thinking process in potential abuse and/or neglect cases requiring a clinical decision and potential intervention. They impact the success and advancement of Telephone Screeners through individual supervision and play a critical role in program improvement through participating in various quality management activities and delivering group training. The Emergency Line provides an intensive training program as well as additional opportunities for continuing education.
This position is 18 hours per week and includes weekly Monday and Friday 8:00am-4:00pm shifts as well as sporadic coverage for evenings, overnights, weekends and holidays. Off-shift responsibilities including individual supervision, quality management activities, meetings and trainings. Candidates must reside in the New England area (preferably MA, RI, NH).

Essential duties:
- The schedule for this position is Mondays and Fridays 8:00am-4:00pm and intermittent coverage on evenings, nights, weekends and holidays.
- Manages shifts collaboratively with team members to promote quality and efficiency.
- Reviews Telephone Screeners' reports and supports decision-making in alignment with DCF Families and Emergency Line policies, procedures, and priorities.
- Coordinates emergency screening reports and responses with DCF On-Call Supervisors.
- Fosters learning, success and professional development of Telephone Screeners through individual supervision off-shift.
- Promotes a calm, professional, and nonjudgmental working environment.
- Delivers training for new Screeners and Supervisors.
- Works together as a supervisory team to ensure coverage of shifts.
- Actively participates in monthly staff and supervisor meetings.
Qualifications
Education:
- Master's degree in social work or related field required.
Experience:
- 2+ years working in child welfare.
Training:
- Ability to assess safety and risk in a fast-paced environment.

License/Certification: MA Social Work Licensure (any level) or Licensed Mental Health Counselor license within 6 months of hire
Salary: $27,900 - $29,250
