What You Will Do

-Maintain the training-scale water and wastewater treatment plants to ensure that they are operating in a manner that can be utilized to train the students in the one-year Water Quality Control Operations Program.

-Develop and prepare instructional materials to train pre-service and in-service water and wastewater operators on maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and safety.

-Instruct pre-service students and in-service water and wastewater operators on maintenance, electrical, instrumentation, and safety.

-Coordinate the IEPA water supply operator certification testing program. This includes the developing and writing of new exams, and providing IEPA with the results of the testing.

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

-Drinking Water Supply Operator Certification from IEPA
-Wastewater Operator Certification from IEPA
-Strong knowledge of maintenance, electrical, and instrumentation used in the water and wastewater industry
-Knowledgeable of safety and emergency procedures related to the water and wastewater industry
-Knowledge of drinking water and wastewater operations
-1+ years generalized experience in the operations of water and wastewater treatment plants
-Valid Illinois Driver's License
-Knowledge of MS WORD, PowerPoint, Access, and Excel
-Previous teaching experience
