DHL Global Forwarding has an opening for HSE Coordinator in Gabon. In this specific position you will develop and administer health, safety and environment plans and processes to mitigate hazardous conditions within the workplace and external environments and provide employees with a safe and healthy working environment in line with the business strategy and requirements, corporate guidelines and policies.

In this HSE Coordinator position

• You will execute health, safety, and environment plans and processes to provide employees with a safe and healthy work environment.
• You will implement health and safety frameworks and standards, ensuring compliance and adherence to internal and external safety standards and relevant regulations.
• You will recognize and mitigate potential workplace hazards, unsafe equipment, work practices, and working conditions within the workplace and external environments.
• You will undertake inspections of grounds, facilities, and premises, analyze and suggest corrective measures to reduce the risks of injuries and job-related threats.
• You will draft reports and conduct investigations on job-related injuries and fatalities, and determine measures to avoid any recurrence.
• You will prepare and examine records of workplace injuries, illness, and absences to identify areas of concern and provide information required by regulatory agencies.
• You will conduct investigations for accidents, identify the cause of accidents with engineers, management, and health and safety regulatory authorities, and prevent their recurrence.
• You will participate in the development of solutions for the transportation of hazardous material.
• You will coordinate orientation activities and daily inspections in the operations facilities, grounds, and administrative areas, and changes in layout and installation of new equipment in order to meet safety rules and standards.
• You will draft training material and content, and train employees on safety protocols and safety-conscious work performance.
• You will establish contact and relations with key stakeholders from the larger community and law enforcement bodies impacting your own work area.
• You will study and resolve issues in day-to-day health, safety, and environment operations and execute practices focusing on increasing effectiveness and efficiency.
